The Ontario Lexus Dealer Associations, which includes the Ontario Area Lexus Dealers, (collectively the “Ontario Lexus Dealers”), respects your right to privacy. This Policy outlines how the Ontario Lexus Dealers’ privacy principles protect your privacy as a key part of our relationship with you. These privacy principles apply to all personal information that the Ontario Lexus Dealers collect from consumers. Personal information refers to any personally identifiable information about you. It does not include aggregate information that does not identify you specifically.
The Ontario Lexus Dealers may collect personal information provided by you to your Lexus dealership, Ontario Lexus Dealers Association and Lexus Canada Inc. including your name, address, telephone number(s), email address, driver’s license and insurance information. The Ontario Lexus Dealers may also collect personal information from you through customer surveys, when you make inquiries or requests for information, or for a test drive, and when you visit the Ontario Lexus Dealers’ web sites.
As part of the Ontario Lexus Dealers’ on-going efforts to better understand your automotive needs and improve the products and the quality and efficiency of the Ontario Lexus Dealers’ provision of products and services to you, Ontario Lexus Dealers may, from time to time, ask you to provide additional personal information, such as your purchase preferences, demographics, and lifestyle, through customer surveys or other means.
The Ontario Lexus Dealers will also collect any information that you provide through your customer service inquiries or when we respond to your requests for information.
The Ontario Lexus Dealers also collect information that you provide during visits to our web sites, including contact information, vehicle information, customer survey information, visitor’s dealership and language preferences, owner information, and contest entry information.
The Ontario Lexus Dealers may use your personal information for the following purposes:

The Ontario Lexus Dealers may also share your information with select marketing partners who may provide you with information about their products and services. You will be provided with an opportunity to opt-out of communications from the Ontario Lexus Dealers, or our marketing partners.
Your personal information may be transferred to third party service providers that the Ontario Lexus Dealers use to assist in managing and processing your personal information. The Ontario Lexus Dealers’ third party service providers are required to use, maintain and disclose your personal information only in accordance with the Ontario Lexus Dealers’ instructions to them and only on the Ontario Lexus Dealers’ behalf.
The Ontario Lexus Dealers will not disclose any of your personal information to any other persons, except (i) with your prior consent; (ii) in connection with a sale of all or substantially all of the assets of one of the Ontario Lexus Dealers’ businesses or if we merge with or are otherwise acquired by a third party; (iii) to conduct investigations of possible breaches of law; (iv) to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be violating an agreement they have with us; or (v) to protect our rights, safety or property; or (vi) as may be required or permitted by law.
The personal information that you provide to the Ontario Lexus Dealers may be transferred outside of Canada for processing. The Ontario Lexus Dealers may store personal information on servers located in other jurisdictions, including the United States. Please note that the privacy laws in such jurisdictions differ from Canadian privacy laws and that in some jurisdictions your personal information may be accessed by law enforcement authorities or the courts.

Your consent may be given expressly or implied, depending on the circumstances. By choosing to submit personal information to the Ontario Lexus Dealers, you signify your consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
When you visit the Ontario Lexus Dealers’ web sites, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information that you provide on the web site. In some cases, the web site may prompt you to provide your consent to the collection of certain personal information. By clicking “I have read and I agree” or another form of consent button, you are giving the Ontario Lexus Dealers permission, as applicable, to collect, use and disclose your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.
In other cases, your consent is understood, such as when you respond to a customer satisfaction survey, request product information, or register for updates.
By providing any personal information in any email request or any interactive activities on our web sites you consent to the Ontario Lexus Dealers’ collection of that information.
You may at any time withdraw or change your consent to the Ontario Lexus Dealers’ use or disclosure of your personal information, or request that the Ontario Lexus Dealers delete it from our files, subject to legal and contractual restrictions. Unless you request the Ontario Lexus Dealers not to do so, you agree that the Ontario Lexus Dealers may use and disclose your personal information to Toyota Canada Inc., Lexus Canada Inc., Toyota Credit Canada Inc., Lexus Financial Services and to other Lexus Dealer Associations for the purposes of selectively including you in advertising and marketing campaigns designed to increase the awareness of Lexus brand products and services and the goodwill associated with these businesses and to carry out the other purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Some of our advertising and marketing campaigns include sending out Lexus newsletters, service reminders and promotional offers. If you would prefer that a Ontario Lexus Dealer not use your personally identifiable information for such advertising or marketing campaigns, please contact the applicable Ontario Lexus Dealers in any of the ways described below under the heading “How You Can Review and Update Your Personal Information”. You may notify the applicable Lexus dealer association that you do not wish us to use your personal information by contacting us in any of the ways described below under the heading “How You Can Review and Update Your Personal Information”.
Where required by law, the Ontario Lexus Dealers will seek your further consent to any additional uses of personal information for which we have not obtained your consent previously.
The Ontario Lexus Dealers will only send email, text or other electronic messages to you if you have asked for or otherwise agreed (either expressly or implicitly as may be permitted under the applicable law) to receive emails, texts or other electronic messages from the applicable Ontario Lexus Dealers. Any electronic message that you receive from the Ontario Lexus Dealers will identify the applicable Ontario Lexus Dealer or dealer association as the sender, enable you to contact that dealer or dealer association directly and provide for a means of unsubscribing from further electronic messages from that dealer or dealer association.
The Ontario Lexus Dealers may also from time to time request your consent on behalf of any of or all of Toyota Canada Inc., Lexus Canada Inc., Toyota Credit Canada Inc., and Lexus Financial Services and other Lexus Dealer Associations, and Ontario Lexus Dealers’ marketing partners. Electronic messages that you receive from any of these entities will identify the sender, enable you to contact the sender directly and provide for a means of unsubscribing from further electronic messages from the sender.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information. When you visit one of our web sites, unless you tell the Ontario Lexus Dealers who you are or reveal any other personal information, we do not collect or store any personal information about you. The only information the Ontario Lexus Dealers collect and store is non-personally identifiable information such as the name of your Internet service provider, the type of the Internet browser you use, and referring web site and the pages you request. Ontario Lexus Dealers use this non-personally identifiable information to generate aggregate statistics regarding web site activity and improve the targeting of marketing campaigns.
Cookies. Cookies are files that your web browser places on your computer's hard drive that permit the Ontario Lexus Dealers to tell whether, and if so, how many times, you have accessed our web sites previously, your language of choice, your dealer of choice, the province in which your internet provider resides, internet user behavioral analysis, and your computer system’s flash preferences. Pixel tags. A pixel tag is a transparent graphic image, sometimes called a web beacon, clear GIF or a tracking beacon, placed on a web site or in an e-mail, which indicates to Lexus Dealers that a page or e-mail has been viewed. In addition, a pixel tag may tell your browser to get content from another server.
Third-Party Links. Our web sites may contain links to other sites. When you click on a link that takes you to third party web site, you will be subject to the third parties' privacy policies. While the Ontario Lexus Dealers support the protection of privacy on the Internet, we are not responsible for the actions of third parties or for their privacy practices. The Ontario Lexus Dealers encourage the users of our web sites to be aware when they leave the web sites and to read the privacy policies of each and every web site with which they interact.
Children. The Ontario Lexus Dealers do not use our web sites to knowingly solicit personal information from or to market to persons under the age of majority. If a child has already provided us with Personal Information, his or her parent or guardian may contact us for the purpose of requesting this information be deleted.
The Ontario Lexus Dealers may license technology to serve advertisements on our own web sites and within its content as that content is served across the Internet. In addition, we may use third-party ad networks, publishers and other entities to serve advertisements and third party analytics vendors to evaluate and provide us with information about the use of our web sites and viewing of our content.
Ad network providers, data providers, publishers and other media-related companies, and/or analytics service providers may set and access their own cookies, pixel tags and similar technologies on your device’s web browser and they may otherwise collect or have access to information about you. We and they may target advertisements for products and services in which you might be interested based on your visits to both the Ontario Lexus Dealers web sites and other web sites. We and they may use a variety of companies to serve advertisements.

Please note that even if you opt-out, you will still see advertisements while you're browsing online. However the advertisements you see may be less relevant to you and your interests. Additionally, many network advertising programs allow you to view and manage the interest categories they have compiled from your online browsing activities. These interest categories help determine the types of targeted advertisements you may receive. The Ontario Lexus Dealers retain your personal information as long as is required for the purposes identified when you provided the personal information and for any new purposes identified to and consented to by you, or to meet any legal requirements, and for an appropriate time thereafter.
Your personal information will be kept on our and our service providers’ servers, including in files stored in our customer relations databases located in Scarborough, Ontario.
The Ontario Lexus Dealers protect your personal information using security systems appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Our web sites are members of the Entrust Digital Certificate Program which involves applying security sockets layer software encryption technology to all information that you submit through the web sites. We apply security safeguards required for compliance with the Entrust Digital Certificate Program. Please note: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password(s).
Personal information may only be accessed by persons within our organization, or our third party service providers, who require such access to carry out the purposes identified to you.
Although we have taken reasonable and prudent measures to protect our web sites, computer systems and any personal information that we have collected from unauthorized use, access, disclosure, misuse, alteration or destruction, no security measures can provide absolute protection. As a result, while we are committed to protecting your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you provide to us.
